"Brooklyn Nine-Nine"

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" is a hilarious cop-comedy series on FOX that's very similar to "Angie Tribeca".  However, that show is specifically about homicide detectives, whereas "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" is about an entire police precinct full of detectives in Brooklyn, NY. Not to mention, it's slightly more serious and character-driven than "Angie Tribeca". It also has tons of cameo appearances in several episodes over the course of three seasons. Including Nick Cannon, Eva Longoria, Stephen Root, Bill Hader, Fred Armisen, Patton Oswald, Adam Sandler, Chris Parnell, Andy Richter, Nick Offerman, Daman Wayans Jr., Kid Cudi, Anders Holms (creator/star of "Workaholics"), Craig Robinson, Ed Helms, Oscar Nunez, and Kate Flannery from "The Office", Nick Kroll & Jason Mantzoukas from "The League", Dean Winters and Dennis Haysbert (BOTH Allstate insurance spokesmen) plus many others!

That's not including this awesome cast, which stars Andy Samberg as the 99th precinct's best, yet most immature detective, "Jake Peralta". It also stars Terry Crews as sergeant "Terry Jefferds", Andre Braugher as Captain "Raymond Holt", Chelsea Peretti as precinct administrator "Gina Linetti", and Joe Lo Truglio as detective "Charles Boyle". He plays "Jake's" dumb and weird work buddy/partner that idolizes him. Truglio is no stranger to playing a police officer, after playing one on "Reno 911" for several seasons until the show ended. That was also a cop-comedy series, but nothing like "Brooklyn Nine-Nine".

This show is fom the same creators and writers that gave us "Parks and Recreation" (Daniel Goor & Michael Scour), and that's why it seems so similar to that series too. There is a similarity in the style of comedy and the dynamic between all the characters. "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" is also a work-place comedy and even has their own version of "April" (detective "Rosa"), "Jerry" (detective "Skully") and their own version of "Ron Swanson" (Captain "Holt"). It really is like a combination of "Angie Tribeca" and "Parks and Recreation", the result is a hilarious crime series coated in that same satire. I discovered this show late, so if you haven't seen it yet...watch on Hulu or download NOW!

"The League" - Season 7

I thought season six of "The League" was the final season, until I posted the trailer on here for season seven back in September, 2015. The last episode of season six could've easily been the series finale. I've been a fan of this show since season one, but I'm surprised this show has lasted this long without losing any momentum. Jeff Schaffer and his wife Jackie are the creators and directors of this popular show about Fantasy Football and the group of adult friends that take it WAY too seriously. Jeff Schaffer is responsible for most of Sacha Baron Cohen's films and has also worked with Larry David on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" before creating this awesome comedy series. "The League" is a show that has been consistently funny and original from the very beginning, but this latest season fell short. Between "Ruxin's" hot wife dying, "Pete" winning a million dollars, and "Kevin" getting his testicles cut off accidentally by his wife, this season seemed completely random and strange (not to mention morbid).

Unfortunately, this was the final season of "The League". So the seven-season series ended in a bizarre and lackluster way. There were only a couple of good episodes this season, such as the first episode, which features Marshawn Lynch sitting with "Taco" and poking fun at the way the Patriots vs Seahawks Super Bowl ended. Another good episode was "Taco" training "Pete" for the "Beer Mile" that he is competing in. The only other episode that was actually funny, was when "Kevin" gets jealous because "Pete" becomes buddies with a different "Kevin". Other than that, it was easily their worst (and last) season EVER! This season also featured other NFL players such as Brandon "Golden" Tate and Randall Cobb. What a shame to end such a great series with such an awful season! (should've stopped on the sixth season)

NEW Series - "Angie Tribeca"

Rashida Jones stars as "Angie Tribeca" in this new, satirical comedy TV series. It's a funny crime show that parodies other shows like "Law & Order", "NYPD Blue", and "CSI". In fact, the opening theme song is similar to that song by The Who, "Who Are You" track from the original "CSI" series. This show was actually created and produced by Steve Carell and his wife, Nancy Carell (Both starred in "The Office" together). This show also stars some unknown actors as well as Hayes MacArthur, who's career has had trouble taking off. He had some small parts in TV shows like, "King of Queens", "How I Met Your mother", "Entourage", "Perfect Couples", etc., He really got noticed after playing small roles in popular movies such as, "She's Out of My League", and "Lower Learning". So, he finally got a starring role in the comedy film, "Someone Marry Barry" in 2014.

Now he's got a starring role alongside Rashida Jones as her "partner" in this off-beat, hilarious, detective-comedy. It Reminds me of other parody shows like "NTSF:SD:SUV" and "Childrens Hospital". To sum up this series in one word, it would be...CAMEO! There are so many celebrity cameos in this first season. Including, James Franco, Lisa Kudrow, Heather Graham, Adam Scott, Jon Hamm, Ryan Hansen, John Michael Higgins, Kerri Kenney, David Koechner, Gary Cole, Danny Pudi, Keegan Michael Key, Danny Trejo, Gene Simmons, Amy Smart, Sarah Chalke, Jeff Dunham, Bill Murray, and even show creator, Nancy Carell. This is a hilariously silly and random series from the mind of Steve Carell, and Rashida Jones does a brilliant job playing detective "Angie Tribeca"

"Captain America: Civil War" - Review

This was the most anticipated movie release of 2016, and it has become the highest grossing MARVEL film of all time (including "The Avengers"). It's definitely the best "Captain America" movie out of the trilogy. The second and third movies in the franchise were directed and produced by Anthony and Joe Russo, and both films are much better than the first "Captain America" movie! The Russo brothers are also expected to direct the "Avengers: Infinity War" films. If you haven't seen it yet, it's based on the original MARVEL "Civil War" comic books, and it's packed with more mutants than "The Avengers" movies. In fact, it seems like this could easily be the third installment of the "Avengers" franchise. In the beginning, this film features the NEW "Avengers" team that we saw at the end of "Age of Ultron". They come together to easily defeat "Rumlo", who returns as "Crossbones" after nearly dying at the end of the second movie.

However, they become divided in this movie when "Captain America" directly disobeys government orders so he can protect his friend "Bucky" (AKA "Winter Soldier"). The government is looking for "Bucky" and still sees him as the enemy and a fugitive after the villain, "Zemo", frames him for a bombing. "Zemo" wants to destroy the "Avengers", but he knows he can't beat them. So, he tricks them into fighting each other and destroying themselves. But how did he know that his plan would work so well? It's only by chance that "Iron Man" finds "Captain Rogers" and "Bucky" in Siberia at the end of the movie....So how could "Zemo" possibly predict that was going to happen??! (That's a BIG plot hole) "Rogers" knows that "Bucky" is innocent, so he helps him stay on the run and becomes a fugitive himself in the process.
.
The U.N. tells the "Avengers" that they can no longer operate privately and without restrictions. "Stark" is almost a villain in this movie- he agrees with the governmental  and helps arrest his own friends. The only people on "Tony Stark's" side are "Vision" and his buddy "Rhodes/ War Machine", so he recruits a very young "Spider-Man" to join his side. This is the third actor to play "Spider-Man"..... it's getting a little confusing and ridiculous. Why couldn't Andrew Garfield just continue playing the role of "Peter Parker"? In this movie, he is played by Tom Holland (an unknown British actor).

This film also introduces "Black Panther"- a skilled warrior with a "vibranium" suit, who is also the King of "Wakanda". He eventually joins "Iron Man" in capturing "Captain America" and his best friend, "Bucky Barnes"/"The Winter Soldier". But "Captain America" is not alone either; he is joined by "Agent 13", "Bucky", "Falcon", "Ant-Man", "Hawkeye", "Scarlet Witch" and eventually "Black Widow". These two groups of powerful mutants battle each other in the most epic fight scenes. The airport battle was probably the best part of the movie. There's no question as to which side you're on. Obviously, the audience wants "Captain America's" team to win. "Tony Stark" is a jerk in this movie and he gets his ass kicked by "Steve Rogers" and had the better team. After all, this is a "Captain America" movie! I take back what I said about Paul Rudd being a bad casting choice for "Ant-Man"; he was perfect as the comic relief in such a tense fight. I definitely like the "Captain America" trilogy way more than the "Iron Man" trilogy.

The "MCU" is expanding quickly introducing more and more characters in each film. The secret scene at the end of the credits is a setup for the upcoming "Black Panther" movie and the new "Spider-Man Homecoming" movie, both set to release in 2017. I give "Captain America: Civil War" a  8/ 10 rating - It's absolutely phenomenal, but I'm sad to see the end of this "Captain America" franchise.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" - Final Trailer

This is the FINAL trailer for "X-Men: Apocalypse" which just released this weekend!! I'm so excited about this movie, I might actually go pay to see it in theaters. It's directed by Mark Singer, who has directed & produced almost every "X-Men" movie. The film is set in the past, so James MacAvoy plays "Professor X" (These "X-Men" timelines are just confusing). This is clearly an origin timeline movie that features many of the same young mutants we saw in "X-Men: First Class". Such as "Magneto", played by Michael Fassbender once again. Jennifer Lawrence returns as "Mystique", Nicholas Hoult returns as "Beast", Evan Peters returns to play the popular role of "Quicksilver", and Lucas Till reprises his role as "Havok".

This movie also includes young versions of "X-Men" members that we're already familiar with. Such as "Cyclops", "Storm", "Jean Grey", "Psylocke", "Archangel", and "Nightcrawler"! Not to mention, the long-awaited introduction of "Jubilee" (played by Lana Condor) and of course, "Apocalypse" (played by Oscar Isaac). Even in the "X-Men" comic books and cartoons,"Apocalypse" was always their biggest nemesis, along with "Sinister". The trailer shows that "Wolverine" will be in this movie too (long before he joins the "X-Men"). I don't know how all these mutants fit into one movie, but it's definitely going to be packed with CGI action and looks absolutely amazing! I like that they acknowledge the fact that "Magneto" is "Quicksilver's" father. I hope they also address the fact that "Mystique" is "Nightcrawler's" mother and that "Cyclops" and "Havok" are brothers. I will post a review on here once I get to see this MARVEL blockbuster.

"The Last Man on Earth" - Season 2

The second season of "The Last Man on Earth" just ended, and it was quite an eventful season and ended with a big cliffhanger! Season two was very different from the first one. For instance, this season is based in Malibu, California because the group left the culdesac in Tuscon, Arizona and moved away after kicking "Phil"/"Tandy" out of the group and leaving him for dead in the Arizona desert. Luckily, in the season one finale, "Carol" saves "Phil" and they drive off together in the very end.

Well, they ended up moving into the White House together and driving around in a jet, just doing fun and reckless things because no one else exists anymore. It's the same fun stuff "Phil" did in the early episodes of season one. The only difference is that "Carol" joins in on the fun with "Phil" now that they're happily married. "Carol" even joins him in his margarita filled baby pool. They seem much closer in this season, and "Phil" actually has real feelings for "Carol" now. It's also much more serious than the first comical season. We see two characters die in this new season (almost three), including Will Ferrell's character, "Gordon". He's only in one episode as "Gale's" lover and the owner of the  Malibu beach mansion that the group is living in now. He is killed when "Phil & Carol" catch up with the group in California, and "Carol" surprises them by popping out and saying "BOO!" Which startles "Gordon" and causes him to die of a heart attack. The second character that dies is the other "Phil Miller" (black "Phil"), when he gets appendicitis and there are no doctors left in the world to safely remove his appendix. "Gale" tries to do the operation without any prior medical training and fails miserably.

Then there is an addition of a new character; "Phil"/"Tandy's" brother, "Mike Miller" (played by Jason Sudekis). He finally comes back down to earth after spending three years at the International Space Station and learning that everyone on the planet died of a contagious virus. He risks it anyway, and finally reunites with his brother! With black "Phil" dead and the arrival of "Mike Miller", there is a much different dynamic to the group. There is no longer an alpha dog / leader, and things quickly fall apart for the group. The guy-girl ratio is way off, so "Todd" has two girlfriends now - "Melissa" AND "Gale". Meanwhile, "Carol" and "Erica" are both pregnant!

In the season finale, it appears that "Mike" has caught the virus that wiped out the whole world while he was in space. Sadly, he convinces his brother "Phil" to let him go to Tuscon, Arizona alone to die peacefully in their family home. The very last scene shows other survivors on a boat, then they see three heavily armed people in hazmat suits headed right to the shore in front of the beach house! So, we'll have to wait until season three to see what happens next!

Daya - "Don't Let Me Down" (The Chainsmokers Remix)

Another fantastic remix by The Chainsmokers, who are known to remix popular songs and make them even better. This is an awesome remix of "Don't Let Me Down" by Daya - I think this is one of the best Chainsmokers songs they've ever released. I was reluctant to share this video on here because it's one of the worst music videos I've ever seen. It's a terrible video featuring Daya with a horrible, all-girl dance crew performing on a dirt road in front of these two stupid looking guys bouncing around in a stupid, 'cholo', hydraulic drop-top like two douche bags. It's incredibly lame and almost hard to watch (sorry). It's unfortunate, because this is actually a great track.

"American Ultra" - Review

__ I posted the trailer for this exciting movie in November 2015, so this is another late review.
Jesse Eisenberg has co-starred with Kristen Stewart before, in "Adventureland" back in 2007. They're older now, and there is a much different dynamic between these two characters in this film. In "Adventureland", Jesse Eisenberg plays an ugly loser with an obsession over his co-worker, played by Kristen Stewart. Her character was hooking up with Ryan Reynolds, so she didn't give his curly head the time of day....until the cliche ending when he finally gets to hook up with her. To me, Jesse Eisenberg just seems like a pathetic, scrawny, timid little bitch, and he has been typecasted as such.

However, in this film; Eisenberg plays a dumb pothead named "Mike Howell" that has no idea he's actually a CIA-trained sleeper agent. Kristen Stewart plays his girlfriend, "Phoebe" (who secretly works for the CIA as "Mikes" 'Handler'). She really likes him too in this film, but then he gets 'activated' and starts killing other assassins. So "Phoebe" uses her CIA training too, and does everything she  can to help "Mike" stay alive as the CIA tries their hardest to kill him. However, he was just trained too well and soon enough, this lazy, stoned store cashier turns into an unstoppable killing machine that the CIA can't just sweep under the rug. Although, there is that scene I don't understand at the end of the movie, showing that they are still being followed and monitored by the CIA. So i think there is a sequel in the making.

Topher Grace plays the role of "Yates", the villain CIA agent in charge of the operation to kill "Mike Howell". This movie is explosive and action-packed (just as I anticipated), and I've never seen Jesse Eisenberg in an action film like this. It's extremely violent and suspenseful, yet funny at the same time. Not to mention, Kristen Stewart looks sexy and does a great performance in this movie. I wish she was my girlfriend! So altogether, I give "American Ultra" a  7 /10.

"The Night Before" - Review

This is the latest "Point Grey" production / Seth Rogen movie. This is sort of a late review of this Christmas movie, I posted the trailer on here back in October 2015, but now I finally got a chance to watch it, and it made me LOL....literally. I was laughing throughout most of the film. "The Night Before" is produced by Evan Goldberg, who has produced almost all of Seth Rogen's "Point Grey" films. Including other hit comedies like, "This is The End", "The Interview", and "Neighbors". This movie is just as hilarious as the rest of Rogen's films (just as I expected) and it's an instant classic! It's based in New York and stars Seth Rogen, Anthony Mackie, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as three unlikely best friends who have a Christmas tradition they do every year together. However, this is the last Christmas eve these life-long friends are going to spend together. They're older now and life has changed for them, so this tradition is ending with one last Christmas adventure that blows "Harold & Kumar Christmas" out of the water! They're partying, taking drugs, drinking, and buying weed from a Christmas angel disguised as a weird drug dealer, played by Michael Shannon. His name is "Mr. Green" and he is also the "Ghost of Christmas Past, Present, and Future". He smokes "Christmas Present" weed with Anthony Mackie, the "Christmas Future" weed with Seth Rogen, and the weed of "Christmas Past" with Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

This film features other familiar faces, such as Jillian Bell, Lizzy Caplan, Randall Park, and as always; James Franco and Mindy Kaling. The movie is full of non-stop laughs, especially when Seth Rogen is tripping on mushrooms! They really end this annual tradition with a BANG! That includes everything from playing the famous floor piano in NYC, to doing Run DMC karaoke. But this year, they finally get invitations to the legendary, secret Christmas eve party called "The Nutcracker Ball", where Joseph Gordon-Levitt performs live on stage with Miley Cyrus. The three friends all split up at one point in the evening, but they find their way back to each other, and they become even closer as friends. Tracey Morgan plays "Santa" as the narrator in the beginning and ending of the movie. It's so funny, I could honestly watch it over and over again (it's also probably awesome to watch while high/tripping). I give "The Night Before" a  9/ 10. It's original, hilarious, and stars an interesting group of actors. Plus, I loved all the "Home Alone" references too!

Mike Posner - "I Took a Pill in Ibiza" (SEEB Remix)

I don't particularly like Mike Posner's music... In fact, I don't even like the original version of this song, but this SEEB remix is f*cking awesome and so is the video! A lot of people have already heard it, but to those who haven't; check it out and watch this trippy music video.
