"Ted 2" - Review

The first "Ted" movie was released in 2012 and was a very successful comedy that appealed to a wide audience. It was never supposed to have a sequel, but these studios will release sequels for box office hits until they have sucked every penny out of the franchise. The first movie was a hilarious classic comedy... why isn't what enough ? This sequel felt forced and just repeated the plot from the first movie... "Ted" gets kidnapped again by that same creepy guy that kidnapped him in the original film (played by Giovanni Ribisi) and Mark Wahlberg's character has to save "Ted" all over again. The only difference is they replaced Mila Kunis (because the sequel wasn't planned!) with a new girl, "Sam Jackson" played by Amanda Seyfried. She is also "Ted's" lawyer in a civil rights case, fighting for "Ted" to be considered a real person with feelings and rights.

Other than that, it's basically the exact same movie with the same vulgar / crass humor. This time around, Seth McFarlane didn't put any focus on the plot, he just went over the top (as usual) and  went straight for that random, intentionally stupid humor for some cheap laughs.

There were a few parts of the movie I thought  were really funny, like the fight at "Comic-Con", their weird encounter with Tom Brady, and Liam Neeson buying "Trix" cereal. Thhrowing apples at people who pass by exercising made me literally laugh out loud. But this movie is nothing more than a transparent attempt to capitalize off the success of the original movie. I give "Ted 2" a 5/ 10, It's a funny movie, but it ends with a Teddy Bear adopting a infant baby...... it's lazy storytelling with a stupid ending and it's way too similar to the original movie.
