"Wilfred" SERIES Finale
I love this show, but I absolutely hate how it ended... It was confusing, depressing and it doesn't definitively confirm who or what "Wilfred" is and why "Ryan" is the only one who can see him. It's like I said in my original post about this new season of "Wilfred" - The writers for the show wrote themselves into a corner. It's like the series was never supposed to go on this long so the writers / producers end the show the only way possible - they kill off "Wilfred". First, he loses one of his legs and then the x-rays showed a mass in his lungs that turns out to be stage four lung cancer.
So, "Wilfred"only has a matter of days left to live which leaves "Jenna" hysterical and even more upset than "Ryan". After four seasons, "Ryan" FINALLY hooks up with "Jenna" after obsessing over her from the very beginning. "Wilfred" reveals that his purpose has been to bring them together all along and help "Ryan" find happiness. But then, "Drew"suddenly comes back into the story to see "Wilfred" one last time. So of course, "Jenna" being the manipulative and selfish vixen she is; suddenly dumps "Ryan" and goes right back to dating "Drew" the tool. "Wilfred" dies in a gut-wrenching scene that shows "Ryan" crying over his body, only it actually shows him as a REAL dog for the first time ever. The show could end there just fine and it would make sense, even though "Wilfred" failed in bringing "Ryan & "Jenna" together after all.
Instead, the finale just ruins the entire series by "Wilfred" coming back to life...It might just be in "Ryan's head", but it's never determined. First, it's explained that "Wilfred" is a "god" and "Ryan" is the "chosen one"..... Then it shows it's all in "Ryan's" head and he really was hallucinating "Wilfred" the whole time. So, "Ryan" really is crazy and has been talking to a normal dog all along...? The finale did NOT wrap up the series - In fact, it poses even more questions with no more episodes and no answers. This two-part Finale was TERRIBLE !!!
