"Vacation" - Review
This movie is based off the 1983 film, "National Lampoon's Vacation" (original title was "Vacation") The top photo shows a young Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo in the original "Vacation" movie, along with their two kids - "Audrey" and "Rusty". The original film was so popular that they made 3 more "Griswold Family Vacation" movies ending in 1997. The bottom photo is the NEW 2015 version that features Ed Helms as "Rusty" all grown up, married to Christina Applegate and they also have two children. It's just like the original "Vacation" movie, Ed Helms basically plays the same part as Chevy Chase, and nothing seems to go right on his family vacation either. Ed Helms was the perfect choice for this role and bringing this movie franchise back twenty years later with "Rusty" as the dad this time was genius.
We also get to see "Audrey" all grown up and played by Leslie Mann, she is married to Chris Hemsworth in the movie and lives a nice, luxurious life in Texas. Other actors featured in this new "Vacation" movie are Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo as "Rusty's" old parents, Norman Reedus as the creepy trucker, Charlie Day as the suicidal river guide, Colin Hanks as a passenger on the plane, Keegan Key as "Rusty's" friend from home and. Kaitlin Olson, Michael Pena, and Nick Kroll all play police officers that end up in a stand off with each other. It was a hilarious movie and I love that they connected this film to the old "Griswold Family Vacation" movies and hopefully they will release more "Vacation" movies starring Ed Helms. I give "Vacation" a 9 /10.
