Flight of the Conchords - "Bret, You've Got it Going On"

Above is an excerpt from the popular show, "Flight of the Conchords". It's also one of the songs they play during their live stand-up routine. Putting this song in the show like this was brilliant. It is so awkward and hilarious. It's also one of my favorite songs by them for sure. It's a short & funny video so check it out if you haven't already heard this.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" - Movie Review

"Cowabunga!!" indeed. This is an Excellent movie ! I was nervous about being let down by this new, updated version of  the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", but i was not disappointed! This is the first time we have actually seen a live action "Ninja Turtles" movie since the 90's trilogy. The characters were updated slightly, but their attitudes and personalities we all know, are still the same. All of the turtles play their own voice except "Leonardo", who is voiced over by Johnny Knoxville for some reason.... that is not at all what "Leo" sounds like. That was a terrible casting choice, but the graphics in this film are phenomenal !! It reminds me a lot of the CGI graphics in the new "Transformers" movie. I also like the fact that these updated "Ninja Turtles" actually use their weapons to hurt & kill villains, unlike the classic "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles".

It is so visually stimulating - especially the part where they are racing down the mountain during an avalanche.I also REALLY liked the part where "Raphael" used himself as a canon ball to take out a truck and I LOVED the elevator scene where they just break into a freestyle beat. This is a great movie, and not too long either - just about an hour & half.

"Shredder" is decked out with awesome armor and weapons - he looks like "Super Shredder". He kicks the "Ninja Turtles" asses individually, but with a  move they call "buck-buck", together they all attack him at once and defeat "Shredder". Although, we see him finally die after "April O'Neil", played by Megan Fox, simply kicks him down over 100 stories,. She actually does a great job playing this role, (plus she is still the hottest woman on the planet). Will Arnett also does a good job in this movie as "April's" news team partner and he is  hilarious!

I've always been a "Ninja Turtles" fan and even as an adult, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie - I give it a  8 /10.

What You Wish Would Happen on "The Walking Dead"

This cartoon puts a funny spin on "The Walking Dead". It pokes fun at the show and what fans would like to see happen, but it does show what we see during season 4. Plus, in the comic books, "Carl" does grow up to be a badass

"Let's Be Cops" - Movie Review

This was a good movie, but not quite what I expected. The previews for the film made it seem like a silly, easy-going, care-free comedy, but the whole "Cop" thing is taken very seriously in this movie. Especially by Jake Johnson's character; once he gets a taste of that power, he goes full steam ahead and buys a complete squad car as well as promoting himself to 'Sargent'. He pulls Damon Wayans Jr.'s character into being his "partner" and soon enough, they are in real danger and real shoot outs without any police training.

The two of them actually solve the case which includes corruption within the L.A.P.D.  but they have no way of doing anything with the evidence, I love Rob Riggle and he is the one that ends up saving their asses in the end. I thought this movie was going to be much funnier, especially considering it stars Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. They do make a great on-screen duo, I just expected more police pranks and I also expected them both to end up as REAL cops by the end of the movie. Instead, only Jake Johnson's character becomes a legitimate police officer. Meanwhile, Damon Wayans Jr.'s character releases a video game called "Patrol Man", based on their intense adventure as cops.

All in all, it was a good movie - just not what I expected. I give it a 7 /10.

"Getting Doug with High"

Cast members from my favorite show, "Workaholics" get high with Doug while being interviewed. They smoke from different pipes, bongs, and gadgets. Doug teaches these famous pot heads some new stuff and different methods of consuming THC. I love these three guys - Anders, Adam, and Blake and I LOVE their show "Workaholics". This is the coolest way to conduct an interview!

Marijuana TODAY

Oddly enough, this is a quote from Joe Rogan - but it rings true for  many people. You can get dangerously intoxicated from drinking alcohol LEGALLY...... but smoking a plant is illegal??

tobacco comes from a plant and cigarettes kill hundreds of thousands of people a year, but that's legal.....

Marijuana has not been proven to cause lung cancer, or any other diseases or ailments It is literally impossible to over-dose on AND it doesn't have any addictive properties. Nobody has ever caused an accident or killed anyone "driving while stoned". Yet again, alcohol is responsible for 88,000 deaths per year and it's legal.... Does this make sense to you?

The only reason it was ever declared illegal is because the small-minded, ignorant minds of the government in the 40's declared it illegal and scared the public with movies like "Reefer Madness" in which, marijuana is made out to be a hard drug if you smoke - you will lose your mind,

Well, it;s 2014, and just like we came to our senses and repealed prohibition, Marijuana will become legal country wide. It's no longer the "devil's lettuce".... times have changed and marijuana is not even considered a "drug" by today's youth. In fact, it's already legal in 23 states because people are figuring out that cannabis has many uses, both medicinal and spiritual. Its not just for recreational use by 'burnouts' anymore. Those days are over and now its is estimated that 24.5 million people smoke weed now and celebrities are now being outspoken about smoking herb

"The Expendables 3" - Movie Review

The eagerly awaited 3rd and final edition of "The Expendables" franchise was released this year. It all started in 2010, when Sylvester Stallone wanted to make the ultimate action movie starring many of our all-time favorite action stars. He even directed the movie itself, which in my opinion, is the best film out of the three. There has been so many famous action stars featured over the course of three movies, but not all of them are in ALL 3 movies.

For instance, Steve Austin and Mickey Rourke are only in the first movie (besides, Mickey Rourke doesn't actually fight anyone ..... what a waste). Also, Chuck Norrris, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Liam Hemsworth are only in the second movie. Lastly, "The Expendables 3" features some new faces we all know from action movies; like Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Kelsey Grammer, Harrison Ford and Mel Gibson. Bruce Willis is in the first two films but he doesn't make an appearance in this movie. Jet Li is only in the beginning of "The Expendables 2" and he pops up at the very end of "The Expendables 3". Once again, We barely get to see Jet Li in action and Terry Crews is injured in this movie, so we don't see much action from him either.

SO, Sylvester Stallone's character, "Barny Ross" made a stupid choice in having a younger, new class of "The Expendables" recruited that haven't been in ANY other action films...this ruins the movie for me. Eventually the younger class of "The Expendables" work alongside with the original crew making a huge ten-man team to take down the villain, Mel Gibson. I will say, the scene with the new cast members are all pretty badass, especially the motorcycle jump scene. But, I still think they should have kept the same crew throughout the whole trilogy. The fighting sequences' are choreographed so well and the special effects are realistic. I give this movie a 6 /10. The first two were much better in my opinion.

"Sex Tape" - Movie Review

There was so much media hype and buzz around this movie when it hit theaters. The commercials looked funny, but the movie is horrible. It may feature some very well known actors like, Cameron Diaz, Jason Segel, Rob Coddry, and Rob Lowe; but the movie is poorly put together and it's not even entertaining to watch. There is no back story or plot other than what you see in the previews - Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz make a sex tape and spend the rest of the film scrambling to retrieve all the copies that were accidentally sent to people. The sex scenes between those two seem so forced and unnatural, which again, makes it hard to watch.

In fact, the ONLY part of the movie I liked was Rob Lowes character's house, filled with Disney movie paintings with Rob Lowes' face drawn in over the character's faces. Also, the fact that he was randomly doing blow after coming across as a straight arrow guy all about business. It came out of nowhere! Even though it was funny, (Rob Lowe is ALWAYS funny) this also made the movie seem weird and poorly pieced together. The movie is awkward and makes the viewer uncomfortable watching it.

Bringing your small children with you to break into a building and retrieve your sex tape is inappropriate and weird. Once again, WTF ? why is this in the movie?? Jake Kasdan is the director of this movie, he also directed another Cameron Diaz movie in 2011 called, "Bad Teacher". Kasdan is also the one we have to thank for the TV series "New Girl" which is just as terrible as this movie. With that being said, I give this film a 3 /10

"RoboCop" - Movie Review

I had low expectations for this movie because I always thought the original "RooboCop" movies in the early 90's were lame and cheesy. I mean, after all, he is the lamest "super hero" ever created... right up there next to "Captain Planet". So, I was in no rush to see this movie, but it was  actually a pretty god & watchable movie. Graphics were great and cast was great, but the very few action sequences shown are dull and "RoboCop" gets his ass kicked WAY too easily. (He sort of looks like "Snake Eyes" from "G.I. Joe" in this movie... but not as cool)

I will say, this is a big improvement from the old "RoboCop" trilogy in the 90's. But then again, that's not saying much. I give this movie a 4 /10. Unfortunately, this seems to be the first in a new, revitalized "RoboCop" movie trilogy.

Childish Gambino - "Kids" (Music Video)

The latest music video from Childish Gambino, "Kids" is a great song but it is not included in his first full-length album, "Because the Internet". Plus I can't find this song on any of his old mix tapes. Perhaps it's a taste of some of his new stuff.
