"The Expendables 3" - Movie Review

The eagerly awaited 3rd and final edition of "The Expendables" franchise was released this year. It all started in 2010, when Sylvester Stallone wanted to make the ultimate action movie starring many of our all-time favorite action stars. He even directed the movie itself, which in my opinion, is the best film out of the three. There has been so many famous action stars featured over the course of three movies, but not all of them are in ALL 3 movies.

For instance, Steve Austin and Mickey Rourke are only in the first movie (besides, Mickey Rourke doesn't actually fight anyone ..... what a waste). Also, Chuck Norrris, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Liam Hemsworth are only in the second movie. Lastly, "The Expendables 3" features some new faces we all know from action movies; like Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Kelsey Grammer, Harrison Ford and Mel Gibson. Bruce Willis is in the first two films but he doesn't make an appearance in this movie. Jet Li is only in the beginning of "The Expendables 2" and he pops up at the very end of "The Expendables 3". Once again, We barely get to see Jet Li in action and Terry Crews is injured in this movie, so we don't see much action from him either.

SO, Sylvester Stallone's character, "Barny Ross" made a stupid choice in having a younger, new class of "The Expendables" recruited that haven't been in ANY other action films...this ruins the movie for me. Eventually the younger class of "The Expendables" work alongside with the original crew making a huge ten-man team to take down the villain, Mel Gibson. I will say, the scene with the new cast members are all pretty badass, especially the motorcycle jump scene. But, I still think they should have kept the same crew throughout the whole trilogy. The fighting sequences' are choreographed so well and the special effects are realistic. I give this movie a 6 /10. The first two were much better in my opinion.
