"Nightcrawler" - Review

I didn't really have any expectations for this movie when I watched it, but it had me glued to the screen. "Nightcrawler" is intense and thrilling, it will keep you on the edge of your seat. It's an action movie with touches of horror; there are gruesome images and violent killing scenes along with all the fast action. All of these things are captured on film by Jake Gyllenhaal's character, "Louis Bloom". He films crime scenes and traffic accidents, the more deadly and graphic the footage - the more its worth.

Gyllenhaal's performance in this movie is a big part of what makes it so intense and creepy. In fact, this is some of his best work in my opinion and he has already been nominated for several awards for his portrayal of this eccentric character. "Louis Bloom" is basically a sociopath that is obsessed with capturing crime and death on film. He capitalizes off the death or pain of others by filming everything and selling the footage to news programs. He doesn't seem to have any compassion or empathy whatsoever; he is cold, persistent, and a little bit crazy. He will do anything to get the best footage for top dollar. He even gets his own assistant killed intentionally just so he can exclusively capture it on film.(It was his way of firing him) I really enjoyed this movie - I give it  7 /10.
